Bio:
Xander was born and raised in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Growing up there wasn't too bad - except the fact gambling becomes a part of your life. Since he was a child, Xander worked for his Uncle, Christopher Birch, who ran a small Hotel, with rooms to let for tourists, who mainly spent their vacations at the beach and not at the slot machines.
Xander gained a solid high-school education and his parents, as well as his uncle, had plans for him going to college. But when Xander turned 17, he dreamt of the wide world out there. He had nothing bad on his mind at first, just desperately trying to earn some money, so could afford travelling. His ambitions to make quick money led to where it had to lead - bad company.
He became a good friend of the son one of the nighclub's owners and it didn't take long before they offered Xander - very athletic all of his life - a job at one of those establishments, which balance on the fine line between business and crime. Xander's task was to fight - in illegal cagefights. To his own surprise, he did very well. He developed a very physical style, he learned to bend the rules and extend his limits. Of course his parents took notice of the changes their son went through, especially when he returned home beaten to a bloody piece of meat. After lots of talking and threatening, Xander still did not give up his "job" and so he was sent to a boarding school out on the country.
Xander, feeling like a trapped animal there, tried to tun away more than once, but the police always caught him and brought him back. So he used his brain for once and stayed in school, learning, being quiet until he turned 18. It took him only one night to pack his duffle bag andto escape form his prison, hitchiking right to New York. The police could do nothing anymore and he did not even call his parents or his uncle back then - and ever since, he has no contact to his family anymore. Running out of options - his parents spent all the college-money to deploy him at the boarding school - Xander did, what he could do best: fighting. It didn't take him long to find some backroom brawls in New York and he performed well - even though the whole scene was tougher than in his hometown.
He earned his money this way for a year, when someone told him, there'd be a secret cagefight tournament somewhere outside Chicago. Xander wasn't really interested, unless the heard of the price - the winner would get 50,000 $. Xander, reliving his dreams, brought in all of his money and advanced to the semi-finals. But then a razzia ended all hopes. Xander got arrested, his money was gone. That was a turning point in his life - but instead of starting a criminal career from there, something unexpected happened. Someone paid the bail bond for him and Xander was free. The one who caused that was no other than Aidan Grey, a legendary cagefighter himself, who made it into the wrestling scene and ended up as a coach for smaller promotions. Grey saw Xander's fights in Chicago and wanted him for a developmental roster.
Xander literally had no choice but to agree. Grey gave him a hard time - Xander had to exercize 8 hours a day. He turned into a all-purpose-guy over the time. Xander brought the physical fitness and resistance, also a very physical fighting style - and he was large framed. So the training added technique, power and speed to the package. After two years in Grey's small wrestling school, Xander was ready to earn a spot on a major roster. Grey, knowing about his potential, let Xander go.
He debuted in a minor promotion, who's name long forgotten. He then went for a long stint in the IWF, making himself a name as a stalker and pretty dark character. After IWF got disbanded he toured through the indies, until signing with the ISN. He received his first well paid contract and stepped up as a main eventer. He was part of the "New Blood" stable, challenging the resident members. ISN closing down pretty much got Xander the image of a 'vulture', pulling money out of the feds, literally draining them. Then he came to AWF - the most succesful period of his career so far. As the fed's major heel, the masses loved to hate him. But, despite argueing with GM Zaphod most of the time, the was AWF's first and longest reigning Armageddon Gladiator Champion (LMS). He laid down the belt to gain a shot at the World Title - and suceeded. The fed blew up with Xander on top.
The whole incidence pushed Xander into a crisis. He headed out of town, way too fast, way too drunk. Naturally, the police stopped him, but he was up for a fight. Later on the court gave him six months - unless he finds a bailer. Well, it turned out that TBG had interest in him and so they got him a lawyer and paid the bail. Xander took a while to get back on track again and accept his new self. But, as he person, he changed, matured - and grew stronge rover it. Before TBG had to shut down, he joined forces with Johnny Blaze and Blackdoom, forming "The Reckoning", battling the likes of Scorpy, Karze and a few more bullies.
Now another fed is history - and Johnny Blaze asked Xander to start something new together. When he heard, that Blackdoom is on board as well, The Mean Mangle turned down some nice offers and decided to go with his mates, totally aware of the fact that this whole last sentence might sound gay. Anyways: Xander's skeptical about the plans, but being loyal - and feeling positive about it in the end.
